This French original medical device was produced in the 1930's - a high-end device, featuring an extensive array of electrodes and powerful output. Vintage devices produce more bite and ozone than their modern day counterparts. The control unit all housed in a Bakelite housing, unlike today, back in the 1920's and 1930's, bakelite plastic was a new and exciting luxury material.

This Ixu machine is one of a number of machines noted for having a high output. Before being offered for sale, this electrotherapy machine has been fully restored inside and out, the case covered with new high quality leathercloth covering, new hardware, control unit securing strap, and freshly lined velvet. A full electrical overall incorporating improvements to performance and safety, and now of a higher build quality, as modern replacement components are used throughout.

Controls

Push button voltage selector. Left (White button) = 110-120 volts, Right (Red Button) = 220-240 volts.

To the bottom of the fascia, a centrally positioned dial which adjusts the rheostat. This gives you the widest possible array of output- from a gentle whisper to something really rather mean.

We recommend rheostat controlled devices, like this machine, as they provide smooth even output transmission, which is vastly superior to most of the lesser thumb-wheel controlled devices, making for a better end user experience.

To Operate

All in all, an extremely simple machine to use. The control unit can be removed from the case and placed on a nearby convenient surface.

Ready to use: all leads are captive to the control unit. Simply connect the device to the mains (power outlet) ensuring the voltage selector is depressed to match your power supply. Next, insert your treatment electrode, now start running by turning the dial clockwise to your desired intensity. Not too high at first; this machine bites.

Operates worldwide running on either

110-120 (USA, North America, Japan) or 220-240 volts (UK, France, Germany, Europe, Australia). Customers with 110 -120 volts mains outlet may find it advantageous using a small step up voltage converter to get the best out of this device.

Electrode

Includes a sweeping display of 12 treatment electrodes, seated on a new red cotton velvet lining in lid. All violet wand electrode attachments are guaranteed as fully functional.

The metal bar is for display only and used to demonstrate the working electrodes, for secondary contact, the saturation electrode is preferred, although any electrode can be hand-held for the same effect.
