A compact and portable, quality high frequency device, this early 20th Century Vintage Universal Violet Ray benefits from a complete electrical rebuild, both inside and out, includes a Tesla coil and has an electronic earthing system/filter for additional safety, housed in original case with refinished teal leathercloth.  It's hard to imaging places not having standardised power output.  The name Universal (another Urval OEM) suggested this machine could be used anywhere, it's design compact and portable, and the engineering facilitating seamless operation irrespective of the power output - one could just easily adjust this at your fingertips.  This electrotherapy machine designed to accompany you on your travels and maintain your wellbeing by usig the device where needed, irrespective of the power output.

This Universal high frequency violet ray device is an very early version of the IFAS machine and was produced in England in the Urval factory, in the 1950's, and can be considered a prototype for what later became the IFAS. It is one of a number of machines noted for having a high output.

Controls

Left hand dial selects mains voltage with a central off position, starts the machine running.  

Right hand dial regulates output.

Operation

This machine is ready to plug and use - simply connect to the power supply, ensuring the left hand dial is in the off position. Add your electrode.

First ensure you select voltage to match your mains power outlet, using the left hand dial - this will start running the machine. You can now adjust the intensity using the right-hand dial.

Voltage

Operates on either 100-125 volts (USA, North America, Canada, Japan, Brazil), or 200 - 250 volts (UK, Australia, South Africa and mainland Europe) only.  If you do not know what the correct voltage setting is for your locale - please ask the question. [Customers with 110 -120 volts mains outlets may find it advantageous using a small step up voltage converter to get the best out of this device.]
