This French original electro medical high frequency device was purchased by the original owner in 1929 and comes with original documentation. This Ixu machine is one of a number of machines noted for having a high output and features dual handsets with the ability to use a single handpiece or both simultaneously (please note output is reduced whilst using both together as the output is shared between both hand-pieces).

Before being offered for sale, this electrotherapy machine has been fully restored inside and out, the case covered with new high quality tan leather cloth covering, new hardware and freshly lined green velvet. A full electrical overall incorporating improvements to performance and safety, and now of a higher build quality, as modern replacement components are used throughout, incorporating an internal fast blow fuse (for additional user safety).

Controls

From the top down

Push button input voltage selection. Left - press white button = for between 80 to 150 volts, right press red button = 200-250 volts.

Centre rotary switch   Bipolaire = (uses both wands simultaneously); Monopolaire (uses one wand hand-piece) 

And last, but certainly not least - to the bottom of the fascia, a centrally positioned dial - this rotary wheel controls output by operating a rheostat, giving you the widest possible array of output- from a gentle whisper to something really rather mean.

We recommend rheostat controlled devices, like this machine, as they provide smooth even output transmission, which is vastly superior to most of the lesser thumb-wheel controlled devices, making for a better end user experience.

To Operate

All in all, an extremely simple machine to use. The control unit can be removed from the case and placed on a convenient surface - both leads are both captive to the device. During transportation, the control unit is strapped securely in place.

Ready to use: first connect the device to the mains (power outlet) ensuring the voltage selector matches your mains outlet. Next, select the number of handpieces you wish to use, (monopolaire - left handpiece only or bipolaire both handpiece) insert your treatment electrode(s), then opt for 1 or 2 Condensateur (high or low); now you are ready to start running by turning the dial clockwise to your desired intensity. Not too high at first - this machine bites. (please note output is reduced whilst using both wands together as the output is shared between both hand-pieces)

Operates worldwide running on either

110 - 120 (USA, Canada, North America, Japan, etc.) or 220 - 240 volts (UK, Australia, France, Germany, Europe, etc.). Customers with 110 -120 volts mains outlet may find it advantageous using a small step up voltage converter to get the best out of this device.

Includes 10 treatment electrodes, seated on a new jet black cotton velvet lining. All violet wand electrode attachments are guaranteed as fully functional.

The metal bar is for display only and used to demonstrate the working electrodes, for secondary contact, the saturation electrode is used.
